Natasa Stork is a Budapest-based freelance actress who works both in film and theater. Following graduation from the University of Theatre and Film, she was a member of the Hungarian National Theatre Company for 2 years. She acts in classical theatrical productions, but also takes part in independent, experimental projects with innovative independent groups like Proton Theater, led by Kornél Mundruczó. With these performances, Stork was invited to many prestigious festivals, including MC 93 Bobigny’s Le Standard Idéal and Temps d'Images (Paris), Kunsten Festival des Arts (Brussels), F.I.N.D. (Berlin). She has participated in various international theater productions, including One Land Many Faces (Carreau Du Temple, Paris, 2015), The Impossible Vastness (Hamburg, 2017), and Die Unscheinbaren (Luzerner Theater, Lucerne, 2019).

 

Stork has featured in numerous films, including Heavenly Shift, directed by Márk Bodzsár (2013), which won the best film award at the Porto International Film Festival, and White God, directed by Kornél Mundruczó (2014), that was awarded the main prize of the Un Certain Regard section in Cannes.

 

Her first leading role in a feature film was Preparations to be Together for an Unknown Period of Time, directed by Lili Horvát, which premiered at the 2020 Venice Film Festival to rave reviews, and was subsequently presented at the Toronto Film Festival, Busan and many other festivals, winning major awards worldwide, including the Gold Hugo Prize in New Directors Competition at Chicago International Film Festival, the Golden Spike for Best Film at Valladolid International Film Festival, and the Fipresci Prize at Warsaw International Film Festival. Preparations was Hungary's official Oscar entry in 2021, and it was also nominated for the Independent Spirit Award.

 

Stork took the Best Actress award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in the International Feature Film Competition, as well as at the Valladolid International Film Festival, the Porto Fantasporto Film Festival, and Les Arcs International Film Festival.

 

She is one of ten European actors with international potential selected by a jury for the European Film Promotion's talent programme (Shooting Stars) in 2021.

 

Recently, Fanni Szilágyi's film, Not a Thing (2022), was shown in theaters with Stork as the double-lead, and she received the award for best actor at the New York Film Week for her dual role as both twins.

 

She is the voice of the main character in the animated film 27 (dir: Flóra Anna Buda), which won the Palme d'Or in Cannes 2023, Best Short in Sarajevo Film Festival 2023, and in Annecy International Animated Film Festival 2023, Best Animation Short Film in Melbourne International Film Festival 2023.

 

The script for her upcoming feature film (working title: Pipás Pista) was developed at the Pitch_It @ Berlinale program in 2022. She plays one of the two main characters in the psychological drama set in the 1930s. It was shot in 2023, and is now in post-production.
